Relining Gravely PTO clutch?

My 8163-B Gravely rider's PTO clutch linings are worn very thin. The clutch itself is a gear with a cone on either end. Opposing the clutch faces are two cups. The cups are keyed to the PTO shaft while the clutch gear spins on bearings.

The clutch linings appear to be nothing more than a strip of lining material about 3/8" wide by maybe 5" long with a slight "C" shape to it so that it wraps in a circle onto the conical ends. These are wet clutches, inside the tranny. The accepted repair method is to shell out $250 for an entire new clutch gear with fresh linings (no core charge as far as I know). Seems wasteful to me. Anyone know where a fellow might send the clutch to be relined? If I were to find a sheet of clutch material do I have a prayer of bonding it to the clutch myself? What kind of adhesive is used for clutch bonding?

Thanks,
Byron
