alright. i have a 1953farmall super m. had high comp pistons and ran awsome when my dad bought it about 12 years ago. ran for about 2 years and then one summer it sat outside and the exhaust pipe rusted off and got alot of water inside. well last year my dad gave me the tractor and said he would help me with the money aspect of it to get it going again. well all the pistons were seized. pressed them out and the sleeves came with it. one of the valves rusted off and the actual bottum of the valve fell off! so now i have the bottum end ready to go to the machine shop for new sleeves. but i just cannot get that valve stem out for the life of me. i tried to press it out but it just keeps bending my punch. i was wondering if you can replace entire valve guids on a tractor like this. because i also have a broken valve guide that im not sure what to do with. and my last problem is my generator has deffinately seen better days. i have seen people use a gm alternator and convert to 12 volt system. i was wondering how? thanks alot for any help or information u might give me!

When you take the block to the machine shop, take the head along with it. The machinist will know how to get that valve out, and he will install new guides and seats if needed.
