I ran the tractor out of fuel. Now I think I need to bleed the air out of the fuel lines. There are 2 fuel filters on the right side of the motor. On the housing above the filters, there are 2 bolts on each filter. There is a little pump further down the line on what seems to be where the fuel is sent to the injectors. Anyway, can someone help with how to accomplish this. As you can tell, I don't know a lot about tractors. I don't even know whatyear it is.

As an afterthought, can someone also tell me what to use in the power steering pump for fluid.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you have it pretty much figured out. Open the closest bleeder and hand pump till only fuel comes out, then close it down and do the second bleeder. That will get the fuel to the pump. I STRONGLY suggest that you pick up a ford repair manual, not the I&T for your tractor. For one thing if you have the Sims pump on it. It has a seperate oil supply that needs to be checked and changed from time to time. This is different from most pump. If you run it out of oil it get VERY costly.

Do you have Dual Power? I think that came out in 1972.

The pump is a CAV. There is a resivior on the front of it, what type of fluid goes in there and what is it for? I have know idea, I'm thinking from what I have been able to read is that it normal oil.

Thanks Jason

I went ahead and changed the filters, since it needed it anyway. Will it take a lot of pumping to get all the air out?

Yes, it is dual power.

I"ll let you know how I come out, haven"t had time to mess with it yet.
