I"ve got my Super M basically all stripped down, including the pistons/sleeves etc. out of the block. I was wondering what"s the best way to get the inside of the cylinders all sanded down and smooth so I can put the new cylinders in..and what is the best way to sand the basic other parts of the tractor, short of sandblasting? is it better to use a wire brush or use a rotating sander with different grit? Whichever way is better, what are the best choices for a wire brush or sandpaper?

Just asking to try and keep me busy in this freezing South Dakota weather, hope others have it better than us!

I really appreciate all the help...THANKS

Josh

Guys, am I missing something here? He already has the sleeves out, I don't think you would want to use a cylinder hone in the cylinders, might take out too much, and then the sleeves will be a loose fit. Not good. I think a soft wire brush on an electric drill might be all that is needed here.

Josh,

Use a cylinder hone on the engine and then have you got one of these littel darlin's?

I pulled this hood down in 10 minutes.

A cylinder hone works good.

Any auto parts type store - make sure the size range matches your cylinder ID. Various stones available for different finishes.
