Curious JD 1010 Dozer Steering question

I have a JD 1010 Dozer. The machine works well and turns great to the left, which is makes sense since I replaced the steering clutch last winter.

My question is the right clutch does not work well at all to turn when the dozer is moving forward. However in reverse the right clutch turns the dozer on a dime. Why such a difference based on direction the dozer is moving?

Thanks
Mike

Had a similar problem with a MC. Can't explain it, but it disappeared when I cleaned and rebuilt the steering clutches. Probably dirt build-up on the linings.
