We overhaul gas turbine engines and some of the steel fittings on the engines need to be plated again to prevent rusting. The sizes are from 3/8" to 1" fittings. Maximum operating temp. 400F. Please quote us on re-plating 100 each at a time.

I have all my silver cad plating done at "Plating Service" in Chilton, WI. The run an ad in the services offered section of Hemmings Motor News. The have done 3 lots of parts for me and I was very pleased. FYI, you need to properly prep the parts before sending -thorough cleaning/degreasing with RM PreKleano 900(available at auto paint store), glass bead blasting, and another cleaning(dunking) in PreKleano 900. Also, the better the parts you send, the better the plating. If there are rust pits(even if blasted), the part can come back with black specs in the pits. This a problem with cad. Zinc is better for corrosion resistance, but doesn't have the exact same look. When specifying zinc, you say silver zinc with clear chromate. I have my zinc plating done at www.detailplating.com One alternative to plating, Eastwood's reflective aluminum is the closest to cad I've found. For small parts especially it's a good fake cad. I have heard from a lot of people that Eastwood's home plating kit is not good(doesn't last).

Most new bolts are zinc plated with a dichromate dip to seal the plating. Cadmium is a no-no due to enviromental regulations

might be cheaper to buy new at Auto Zone if they happen to be same size as a truck. I did that.

You might try the Eastwood Company I think at www.Eastwood.com, I believe they have kits to do your own plating or paints to match.
