I have a Farmall H that I can"t get to idle. It runs at about 1/2 throttle and greater. I don"t believe it"s a carborator adjustment problem. My manual suggests seeing a dealer for governor adjustment. Is the adjustment that difficult, and if no, does anyone have the procedure to share?
Thanks,
DRWatson

I would also suggest checking the points! I had the same problem with my W-4 (motor is the same as an H) ..I had glanced at the points but after cleaning the carb I returned to the points and found that they were in need of attention! idles fine now :) Rod

Loosen the 2 screws that are holding the governor tube & gently tap it so it "centers" itself then tighten the screws. Remove the top cover on the governor (has the pipe going to the top of the engine) and check governor to carburetor synchronization. With the throttle wide open, the clevis pin should just slip into the governor connecting rod that is in the tube. Adjust the clevis height if needed & lock the nut. You will need small fingers & a right angle needle nose pliers to make the job easier.

Thank you for your response. That would be great if we had an "I-T manual". We just have the owners manual. Is there any way that someone could scan and email it to us? Or is the I-T manual online?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
