I am painting a ford 601 workmaster for a friend. He wants the hood to be painted grey. I know it is supposed to be red. I like to make every restoration to the original as much as I can. Any words of wisdom that I could use to convince him that he should go with the red hood would be great. Also, I am having a hard time finding info on this particular tractor. Were there just not very many of them manufactured. Any input would help. Thanks, George

That leads tot he next issue.. you will find more info if you actually look for the specific model it is. vs the series. 601 is the series.. means it was made between 58 and 62. The middle difit makes it a model # 6412, 651, 661, 671, 681,.. etc. If you look on a flat ont he bellhousing, thgere will be 2 numbers.. a 3 digit model number and the sn
