I have searched every link I can think of and, well, I'm still clueless. I have a JD 710B that has Hyd. probs., I have had the pump rebuilt,(was told that it looked like new when it was apart), and still no hydraulics unless the engine is rapped up to about 2300 rpms, and even then they are sluggish. I have heard from several people that the pressure relief valve may be worn or stuck open, but I have no idea where it is located, can anyone help? Or maybe give me something else to look at besides the relief valve? Thanx

Sounds like you have a bad charge pump in the trans,or a stuck relief valve in the filter housing,or a severe internal lube line leak. The front pump can only pump the oil that is sent to it,it does not draw it's own oil from the reservoir, the pump in the trans sends oil to the main hydraulic pump.

I am sure the charge pump is ok, the transmission works fine, I am almost sure it is the relief valve, where is it located in relation to the filter canister? Thanx a million
