I replaced all exhaust valves and guides in this engine due to the old were rusted and frozen in head.I used f12 valves attained from a reliable source supplier but cannot set to zero lash.question is do the rocker arm assy use a shim or shimms to elevate enough to get clearance ? This head was apart for 40+ years and after searching the several sheds on site the rocker arm assy's showed up in a coffee can but I don't know if everything was there. Can anyone tell me if I am missing something or does one just cut down the f12 valve to fit?

I believe that is what I will try, taking the valves out again to shorten the stem seems like a lot of work. Thanks for the reply.

I would just shim the rocker arm stands up with flat washers.
