G'Day all,
I have just done a full rebuild on my VF4D (Out of A bobcat 600) new pistons, rings, bearings , dizzy, cap ,points ,condensor etc. I pretty much replaced every thing that was suspect, it went together well and slipped in no problems, well came time to crank it up, after alot of cranking and moving distributor (after staic timing) i got afew puffs of smoke and then a half arsed 20 second run a couple more of the same and run the battery down.
Some of the things i noticed;

Cylinders 1 and 3 were hot, 4 and 2 were not

As the engine cranks with throttle open eng starts to puff a bit keep cranking and move the throttle about a millimeter and it sounds like it wants to go but won't,move throttle any further and not even a puff.

it has a elec fuel pump and doesn't appear to be flodding.

my main concern is that cyl 4 and 2 are not getting enough bang, compared to 1 and 3,

I did read a message where people have stated that firing order is 1-4-3-2 and not 1-3-4-2 as per book

i have a prestolite iad 4036 dizzy

any help will be appriceated

Dixi
