hello,

I have a maytag 92 and I have a problem. It will only run if you put your two fingers over the air intake hole every once and a while, to choke it. What could cause this? I have heard that it needs a check ball in the fuel pickup tube. (it doesn"t have one) If that could cause it where can I find one? or can I improvise? What else can I try to fix my problem? Thanks Nick

Briggs & Stratton engines with the suction, carburetors,(used on a lot of lawnmowers) the one's with only one suction tube, use a ball foot valve. They are readily available from most B/S dealers.
