I have been looking at stationary engines from time to time and was considering maybe getting one for my next project. I have five tractors and wanted to try something different. I am into IH/Farmall mostly and have an IH corn sheller. I was wondering if there was an IH engine that would be a good start for me? Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks guys!

I kind of agree with Tinker. The LA and LB engines are plentyful and good running engines. What I don't like is 1) They are throttle governed so the are boring to listen to and 2) They have enclosed crankshafts so they are boring to look at. I much prefer an open crank Hit and Miss engine.

Well I'm glad someone else said it. I looked those up and, well frankly they were just not what I was hoping to get a hold of. About as interesting as a 1950's refrigerator to look at.
I know it may run a little more, but I want something with a little more curb appeal.

IHC model LA or LB. Easy to find, not expensive, and parts are easy to come by.
