I recently purchased a McCormick Deering 1.5hp gasoline motor. The ID tag shows - Speed 300 -
- No. A106286 - I have not been able to find a reference that shows a six digit serial number, nor anything that shows a 300 rpm rating? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Not to be too nosey, but what kinda dollars are we talking about for an old IH gas engine? I have been wanting one, not real picky about the size or model.

One more question, is this considered a hit and miss motor?

Is it ignitor or spark plug?

What magneto?

BTW, it is throttle governed.

It has a spark plug, WICO mag, and the throttle is governed. The block is stamped H752.

I am not sure. What is the best way to determine that? It looks like an M, going by pictures on the internet.

The unit is a 1931 Model M. There is a W above the serial number, and it says 500rpm. What is the proper governor setting for this motor?
