The original subject was "Re: wisconsin vf4".

My question is about the numbers on the mag holes, my cap has the numbers in the wrong order for firing in counterclock rotation looking at the cap. After I found #1 I put the wires to the plugs in 1,3,4,2 order, that differs from the actual numbers on the cap, The engine is in perfect mechanical time but is hard to start and back fires through the carb on propane. I can pull off #4 wire and the backfiring stops. Help

Backfiring might be a sticky intake valve!

Try a new or different plug in #4.

The numbers on the mag cap a meaningless. Insert the plug wire by fireing order. The backfireing problem you explained I have no answer for.
