I just started working on an engine I know little about. Which way does an International M run? Flywheel turning toward front or back of engine? I have the engine crank and it will fit on the mag or opposite side of the crank.

First of all, congratulations on having one of the best engines designed...I've got two of 'em! The flywheels spin toward the REAR of the engine. There should be a grease cup on the end of the crankshaft for lubing the connecting rod. Make sure you give it a couple of twirls before starting. Instruction manuals are available from several online suppliers along with replacement parts, etc.
