Looking for information on Hall Scott,Cummins Model H engines from 1930 till say 1955 and the use of the R & S model Continental engines for no millitary trucks. Who all did Continental build truck engines for And I really don't mean the F model engines. Does Continental has a historical society? Thanks in advance. Have a good weekend! J.

Older "MOTORS" Truck repair manuals list the
engines available under the list of makes or
brands of trucks. Then you go to the particular
engine section for specifics.

John,

I know IH and Brockway used cont'l. I went to a sale to but cyl boring bar and a line boring bar ,there were KB-12 IH with either 802 or 820, can't remember which ,also had the round axle with center point steering . It was a small fleet. I overhauled a Brockway engine ,it was 572 . I hauled some dirt with it after I rebuilt it,
that was a really nice driving truck.

In what I have I find several Brockway models using the Cont R6572 (Brockway"s 48B) as well as the R6513 (Brockways 46B).
My IH stuff isn"t complete enough to show any 800"s; biggest I show is the 602 (R6602) in an L and an M; I"m not sure whethere the "M" means "military". All I show in the K"s is the R6586, but my stuff is nowhere near complete, nor do I know what engine options were available.

John: I'm not following you on this one as to "...use of the R and S model Cont'ls for no (not? non?) military trucks. Who all did Cont'l build truck engines for...".
D'you mean a list of truck/eqpmt mfr's that used the R and S Cont'ls, or a list of the various models of the various mfr's that used these? Or am I misunderstanding completely??
Can't recall hearing of a Cont'l Hist Soc, like Wauks, but then, I never looked, either...
With sympathy, Bud
