I acquired a "mudge" engine today. it has double flywheels appoximately 18" in diameter, a detroit coil and fairbanks C5 carburetor. The water tank is pretty well rusted away but appears to be quite complete. Previous owner states he removed it from a railroad "motorcart" which he used when he worked for the railroad company years ago. He is 82 years old. He could not find the "control panel" or the handcrank. he says he can't remember if he ever had them.I would greatly appreciate any info you could share with me and a picture of your engine if you wouldn't mind. Thanks----John

In MetaCrawler under Mudge&Company there is an article about the New York Subway and the train cars being built in 1912. Go down to the ventilation part of the article and Burton W. Mudge & Company in Chicago is mentioned. Maybe you can do something with that.
