What effect would a slightly bend connecting rod
to a runing engine.

It wouldn't be good especially if it's a diesel engine. First the bearing would wear out faster due to the misalignment of the rod and piston assy with the crank. Second if it is a diesel it would change the compression on that cylinder and since that's how a diesel ignites the fuel charge in the cylinder it could very easily cause a miss in the engine. Finally if you somehow avoided the above problems you would probably still have a nasty vibration.

I have an AC 840 Loader with a 4 Cyl. Perkins diesal in it. I'm having trouble locating a manifold extension for it it...anyone who might be able to cross over some old numbers would be very helpful tks..
