I recently purchased a Villiers Mar Vel engine.
It needs the starting mechanism- the data
plate reads like it had a handle with rewinding
strap. Any parts leads or general info on this
UK made engine will be gratefully received. Bill

I am making one out of two that I have just got and unfortanitly I only have one of the parts you need between the two but Out of the remands of the pulling strap that was in it is exactly the same as shipping strap. If any one has any info on tis motor and what parts of it are soposed to be panted or even some pictures of any restored or unrestored please let me know and if you know of any sites that would help alot

Sorry, but I don't have any parts available. But I was wondering if you could help me? I have a 2.5 horse Villiers that needs a lot of attention. Fortunately all the parts are there. However, the logos are all missing. I was wondering if wou had a decent copy of a logo that you could scan in and e-mail to me so that I can have it vinyl cut

Regards
Miles Hollins

P.S. I hope you eventually find the parts you are looking for.

I just got a gas powered jackhammer that has a Villiers engine, I dont know much about it but, on mine the flywheel nut turns clockwise to remove the flywheel. I had to use an impact air wrench to get it off. The nut acts like a flywheel puller and is part of the flywheel, it is a very good design as it presses the flywheel on as well as pulls it off.
