Wisconsin V4 won't start -ANy Ideas?

Hi All,
You'll have to pardon my ignorance of this engine, but I've been trying to get a Wisconsin V4 started and haven't had any luck. The owner told me it's a 65hp (but who knows).

In the front below an amp gage is the throttle and what appears to be the starter button. If you connect the battery and press the button, the engine doesn't crank. I can bypass this switch and crank the engine over, but it doesn't start nor appear to have any spark. The plug wires all trace back to a large box on the lower left, I'm assuming this is the mag as it sure doesn't look like any distributer I've ever seen.

Is there some other ignition switch somewhere else that I'm missing? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Chuck

Yep, that's the magnito. There should be a screw, terminal post on the side of it, sometimes there is a flat spring next to the terminal, sometimes not. If there is a wire connected, disconnect it. The terminal's purpose is to stop the engine by grounding it. Don't hook up any voltage to that stud. Left alone with nothing attached to it the magnito is "on". Grounding it turns the Mag "off" There should be a clanking sound as the engine is cranked over, that is part of the mag too. It's normal. If you remove the cover, you'll find a rotor and further in there are ponts and a condenser. Good luck.

I have a v465D engine that I have to rebuild the top end about once a year. The engine runs good on the stumpgrinder for about 200hrs and then starts blowing back through the oil fill cap. Any suggestions on making it run a little longer between rebuilds.
