I've just acquired a Wisconsin engine and was wondering if someone could help in further identifying this engine. The tag on the shroud is barely readable, but the stamped numbers are visible. The model is AEH, bore and stroke is 3"x3.25", I think the serial number is 752958, and the other number on the shroud is 22086. It's a single cylinder magneto fired engine, with the gas tank on the right side of the engine, as you face the front. It's got a Zenith carb and an Edison magneto. Any ideas on the horsepower and year of production? Thanks,
Jason Kendrick

Are you sure on that serial number? That would make it a late 1936. The AEH is usually listed at 6.4 hp. @ 2200 rpm. It was very popular from the late '40s until early '50s. I am not sure it was made before WWII. If that serial # is correct, you have one of the first ones.

I just double-checked, and the numbers are correct. AEH / 3x3.25 / 752958 / 22086
Late '36? Wow! I hope to have it running within the week. I'll keep ypu posted. Thanks,
Jason

Jason -

I read your first post wrong, I thought the serial number was 22086, not 752958. Your motor was made in late 1946, which makes a lot more sense. Do you know what it came off of?

The motor is off of a grain elevator(conveyor), I'm told. This kid said that his Grandpa used the elevators as feed bunks, and removed the motors to rebuild at a later date.
