I'm doing research and I need to correspond with someone who knows something about Clinton Engines out of Clinton, Michigan. I know they built chain saws but I need more information. If anyone knows anything about this company, please contact me. I have some questions.

Hi SHERRY, By now, i'm sure you know that Clinton engines were not produced in Clinton Mich. but in Maquoketa, Iowa. Chris Craft engines were produced in Algonac,Mich. which is next door to Clinton, Mich.
Warmest regards, Joe

Clinton made more than chainsaws. I have a small garden tractor with the name Rugged Rider. That has a horizontal engine. Also I have another engine that is vertical and it currently powers my mini-bike. But the engine did not have anything to do with the bike. I have seen more than chainsaws, mostly lawnmowers, engines by themselves, and rarely i have found another like my garden tractor. Someone at Tuckahoe has a nice collection. Hope this helped. I love these engines. --Kaili

I found the history, including mfg dates on Briggs and Straton, but I have been unable to find info on all Clintons. Do you know where I can find info on all Clinton motors. Thanks!

I just bought a fairly large catalog of Clinton engine illustrated parts list at an auction, These date back to early 1950s.
