Need help diagnosing a problem with the power unit on my John Deere material collection system. I think its powered by a Kawasaki Engine about 6HP... here's the issue... Engine runs fine at first but after a few minutes the carb has "spit up" (ejecting gasoline out past the throttle plate) enough gasoline to soak the air cleaner element.... then the engine begins to choke, runs rich, carbons up the plug and continues down hill from there. Checked the carb and all looks ok. Could warn vavles cause this ? Any ideas on next steps apprec

sounds like the cam might be going flat on the exhaust or maybe an exhaust valve is burnt and causing it to spit out thru the carb

The valves could very well be causing the problem I have also seen the spark arrestor screen in the muffler cause these problems if it carboned over just take it off and throw it away, hope this helps. Mike
