I have a ditch witch with a wisconsin robin wi390 engine I think is a 91 model. I have had it running but it will not stay running. I have cleaned the gas tank and added a fuel filter, cleaned the carb.a mikuni I think and it still won't start dependably. It has an ignition module and external coil. Is there a way the coil could be bad or the carb. What champion plug does it use? It does not seem to suck the fuel into the cylinder. The motor seems tight and head gasket was leaking but I fixed that also. Help

I have exactly the same problem. Can't get a pop even with spark and starter fluid sprayed into the engine. Seems to have compression. I ground the valves down and reseated them for a temporay fix but it had no effect. If it had a timing chain I would suspect it had slipped. I'm baffled and about to buy a new engine.

James

I have a Wisconsin Robin w1-390 and it's apparently considered an 11 hp engine. Mine was build around 1986 I believe. I have been looking for a replacement carburetor for it. It has a mikuni on it. Would anyone know the Robin Subaru part number or even the Mikuni # for the carb?

My WI-390 engine ran only for 10 seconds and stopped. No spark. Is there a way of telling if the ignition module is bad? I'd hate to spend $200.00 on a module and not be sure this was the problem.

DUDES, I"VE WORKED ON SMALL ENGINES FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND THE WI 390 IS ONE OF THE BEST EVER BUILT. IT"S MY FAVORITE. IF IT RUNS FOR 10 SECONDS IT"S NOT THE IGNITION OR ELECTRONICS....OR IT WOULDN"T RUN AT ALL!!!
WI 390"S USUALLY HAVE A LOW OIL ENGINE SHUT OFF CONTROL. IF NOT ENOUGH OIL, RUNS FOR 10 SEC, THEN DIES!!! THE OIL SHOULD BE UP TO THE TOP OF THE FILL HOLE. NEVER MIND THE DIPSTICK, FILL TILL IT RUNS OUT!!!!THEY USE ALOT OF OIL AND YOU GOTTA CHECK IT EVERY DAY!!! IF IT FIRES UP THEN AND RUNS THEN DIES..... TAKE OFF THE BELT TO THE WATER PUMP/ETC.!!!! TRY AGAIN. IF IT STILL DON"T WORK CORRECT, IT"S A FUEL/CHOKE/CARB PROBLEM. IT"S THAT SIMPLE!!!!EMAIL ME BIGLOUDGUY@YAHOO.COM AND I"LL HELP!!

I have a generator with a wi-390, it ran well for several years. All of a sudden it stopped and will not run, becouse the magnet for the igniton timeing flew off. Does anyone know how I can get a new magnet. Or the complete fly wheel used.
