with luck i should get my first hit and miss running within a month. but i want it to pull its own weight so looking for equipment for it. my favorite would be an ice cream maker. new 8qt white mountain cost $150 with the 5 gallon going for $1250. i might be able to afford two of the 8 qt. models.

anyway, anyone set up a h&M to run a freezer? any suggestions on clutching, power transmissions, speeds etc.

I asked this question on one of the other hit and miss sites, but the discussin got bogged down on if "homemade ice cream was safe"

Thanks

Well, I just saw this after the last e-mail or I would have commented on it. I asked an old timer about the ice cream churns and he thought the smaller one's might not take the beating. I saw a thread on smokestak archives about how a guy worked one up with a big pulley to turn it slow. But it was a big one, 10 or 15 gallon if I remember right. You might watch E-bay, older white mountain's go for a whole lot cheaper than what the new ones are. I'll poke thru the archives and see if I can find that thread...
