i have a wisconsin vh4d running an Edwards water pump....both are probably from the late 50's...the pump is leaking pretty badly so it looks like time to rebuild...anyway, the pto rod to the pump is attached using a heavy-duty bicyle-style chain connecting teeth from the pump and pto rod...any idea how to remove the chain???...i see the connecting link, but any idea as to how to release the link? it has two rivets holding on the oblong fastener...do i use a screwdriver to distort the fastener and then punch out the rivets? and if so, would i need a rivet gun/punch of some sort to reattach a new fastener with two new rivets? thanks in advance for any assistance. finally, any advice on how critical it is to match up teeth when i reattach the pump section to the pto rod?

since writing the initial message, i found a motorcycle maintenance link that seems to explain what i need to do...
http://www.motomatrix.com/text/chain.html...namely grind off the lead rivet "mushroomed" end that holds the outer link plate/fastener on the master link and then push out the rivet...any other ideas? thanks.

When u get ready to re-install the chain. get a new master link at your local bicycle or motor cycle shop.
