I have 2 type "Z" engines. One is a 3HP #191878 and the other is a 7HP at 600rpm or 8HP at 700rpm. There is no seial number on the brass tag of the 7-8HP. Where is the number and when was my 3hp built? Is there a sight with this info? Thanks

Does anybody have any information on how I could get a schematic on a Fairbanks Morse Gas Generator Model 10A-2R, Serial Number 2471671, Generator # 1X224. Please either e-mail me at stettbach@aol.com or call me collect in Connecticut after 6:00pm at 1-203-457-1341. I have this model and I don't know how to make it work. Thank you for any consideration you can give this matter. Adam Ashman

Dennis, greetings from Western Australia.Re the engine number, try lightly cleaning the ends of the crankshaft----I have a F/M/Z and the number is also on the end of the crankshaft.Re the site for numbers,http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/BillD1/fmdates-----or go in via Bills Antique Gas Engines.Date as I read it is 1916.Let me know how you go,Cheers, Norm Green
