Hello Everyone, I'm rebuilding a VH4D engines and need some help on removing the Idler gear and shaft. The repair manuel does not seem to describe the procedure in enough detail. I do not want to damage some parts while removing it. All input would be appreciated. Thanks Joe

There is a allen set screw on left of block as you face the front of engine. Remove set screw(might be one on top of another), then you should be able to pull shaft and gear out. When putting back make sure you check clearance between gear and shaft so it will turn freely.
Hope this helps
