MVG4D OIl filter conversion

I've got a Wisconsin MVG4D. I'm trying to convert it out of the Miltary set up with new "civilian" plugs, plug wires, magneto and a 12 volt starter and alternator. I would also like to get rid of the separate miltary type oil filter and convert it to a side mount screw-on filter as with other V4 Wisconsin engines. The first items are fairly easy, however I'm at a little loss on the oil filter conversion. I do not have a repair book yet as the factory is on backorder with that one. Can anyone out there help me? Is it possible? Thanks in advance for all help and input. Joe Browning
PS. After it is completed I will be selling it.

I HAVE SEVERAL OIL FILTER HOLDERS FOR VG4D, IT BOLTS ON SIDE OF BLOCK WITH 2 BOLTS, ON THE LEFT SIDE, CAN GET FILTERS AT NAPA.
