My wife's uncle has a LeRoi stationary engine. He has never been able to find out anything about it. Has anyone ever heard of a "LeRoi" and can they provide any further information?

Steven,
It's not much, but here goes. LeRoi was from Milwaukee and made a lot of engines and compressors from the '20s or earlier. They were bought out by Waukesha Motor Company (now Waukesha Engines) in the early '50s. As they had been a local competitor, the LeRoi products were either killed off or sold off after that. Some are still built by "Roiline". Beyond that, I have a LeRoi RH-3, a small vertical hopper-cooled four-stroke from, I think, the late '20s. It's on a Bixbe contractors' hoist. If memory serves, it's 3-1/8 by 4-1/2 and perhaps three horse.

Thanks for the info. The engine belongs to my wife's uncle. A stand-alone engine on a four-wheel cart. I don't have any details on it other than then LeRoi name cast in the side but it may be very similar to your RH-3.
