Hi, I know this engine is not an old one, but maybe someone can help me out. This engine is an 11hp one mounted on a Homelite generator. The generator is total fried and the cost to repair is not feasible. The engine runs perfect, has less than 50 hours on it, but the unit is a year out of warranty so no hope there. Homelite requires that the engines have a tapered shaft which does not lend themselves to other uses. Anyone know if I can get tapered pulleys to fit it or if I can get a new crankshaft that is not tapered?
Thanks

Mike You can have pullies bored to the taper of your crankshaft. Any good machine shop can do it for you. You might be able to have the taper removed from your crankshaft.

thanks, I might resort to that. For just being a press fit, it sure took a lot of energy to get that generator head off that engine. Now that it is off, I find that there is about an inch or so of regular shaft before it starts to make the taper, about 1"diameter, so I am thinking I can get a pulley to go on there. Might make a heck of a pressure washer setup.
Thanks again
