Years and years ago an older gentleman man showed me how to test Model T coils with a battery charger or battery. He has since departed this world and I have forgotten what he told me. I know where the three terminals on the coil hook up to, and was wondering if anyone could refresh my memory as how to test them. I have only two left and don't want to ruin one if it's still good. Thanks in advance, Tom/Idaho

The top and bottem posts are for the battery. The one in between is for the sparkplug.Make sure you have A SPARKPLUG or a way for the spark to go otherwise it will try to go through the coil windings and destroy it.

If you have the coil box for the model T, slide one in the box and look at where the terminals are located. One goes to the spark plug, the other two are battery terminals. Hook positive and ground to either of these. Spark should arc to whichever one you have as the ground. Adjust points to get the best buzz or in other words, hottest spark. They bite bad! Found that out when I was a kid. ha ha!!!! Good luck.
