Briggs Stratton Magneto

What gap should exist between the magneto and the flywheel on a 4 HP horizontal shaft B&S engine?

Engine sat in my garage for a couple of years without use and I suspect the lack of spark is due to corrosion that has closed the gap. I cleaned the outside circumference of the flywheel but swear I hear the magneto brushing the flywheel in one spot as I turn the sharft by hand with the spark plug out.

Any thoughts?

.010-.014,if you use a feeler gauge. You can do it much easier and faster with a shipping tag between the flywheel and magnet for a gap gauge.

are that if you don't know what you're doing, take it to a repair shop before you tear it up.
