Wisconsin AENLD, Serial# 4193374, Spec# 276104, 3" X 3.25". Can anyone tell me if there is any other option for this engine other than the wrap-the-rope pull start? I am looking for some other kind of setup. Also, I cannot get this thing to start. Thank you

Wisconsin offered a belt-drive starter/generator set up, a regular bendix-type starter with seperate generator (requires a different flywheel with ring gear), and a recoil starter. The recoils was offered as an add-on, and the starter-generator can be added if you are not scared to drill & tap holes in the block. I second the recommendation to get an older manual. E-mail me off-line if you need a scan showing these set-ups.

Hello Don, On your question. I would approach it from several ways. First; get on Ebay and get one of the older service manuals. They are better, cheaper then new usually, and show a lot more detail. This should help you to get your engine running. Second; Review some of the earlier posts. There are several individuals that have loads of knowledge about your engines. Also a number of supplier contacts. Third; Parts #1 Contact- Rock Creek Consulting (wisconsinengines@eartlink.net) He has lots of parts, both new and used. He is very good to work with on obtaining parts. #2 Try the factory. 800-922-5632 ext #6. Ask for Hike. He also is a good knowledgeable individual that will help you alot. #3 Try Ebay. Enter Wisconsin Engine. Usually a lot of items for sale. Hope this helps, Benjamin J. "Joe" Browning

I'm not sure what Wisconsin offered, but if you're looking to use it and not restoring it to original, a belt-driven starter/generator off of a Briggs or Kohler should not be to tough to attach to the engine.

Here's a link to a photo of one on ebay. (I have no connection to this auction.)
