How do you adjust the governor. I am trying to get the engine to run a little slower. I have the governor springs screwed all the way out and they still hold. It is a good running engine and you can manually move the governor linkage do make it run slow but the governor needs to do it on its own. Also how much end play should be in the crank. Thanks in advance

Changing the governer spring tension has no effect on engine speed only on how fast the governer will react under load. The model your talking about is a throttle governed engine and can only be slowed down by adjusting the butterfly in the carb.

Try adjusting the butterfly in the carb right at the linkage on the head so that it closes earlier with the weights barely opening. Or along with your weakened spring adjustment you can adjust the govenor shoe so that it starts to engage earlier.
