I have a 1 1/2 hp E engine I am trying to get going. Well here are my questions: How do you set the timing? How do you check the points type spark plug, and what is the proper name for it? Does any one have a good oil pan and fuel tank? Any websites that would have good info, literature, parts, etc? Thank you

I am a rookie too, but I think you are talking about the Igniter when you refer to the points type spark plug. Check out this website www.hitnmiss.com and dig around and you will find John Deere parts (oil pan, fuel tank, and more) at a reasonable price.

Are you referring to a John Deere Model "E" engine, or to a Economy engine? (What color is it?)
