Have you checked out the old engine parts supplier's site I posted about 9 posts down? (Under International Fuel Pump) Contact Hit-and-Miss, if you have not already. They may be able to repair it, or supply a replacement.

Bob,

I have contacted several vendors on the Enginads site with no luck. Have called Hit N Miss twice, they didn't have a head. I will periodically check back with these vendors to see if they may have picked up a head somewhere. Thanks for the reply.

If you mean one that is not broken or hasn't been repaired, good luck. And if you do find one, be prepared to reach deep, real deep into you pocket. If you currently have a head and it needs to be repaired, it will probably be cheaper to repair it.

Bill,

The head I have has been repaired several times. There are signs of welding. and brass brazing. Chunks of the head (outer water jacket) are actually missing. I carried to a weld shop for the repair and it has cracked in several places/directions. I was told that it would be best to find another head. I'll be persistent, something will eventually turn up. Still looking!

Chunks missing? That is pretty bad. Good luck on your quest. Just remember, if you come across a head that has a good repair job done to it, don't pass it up if the price is right. I recently picked up a 3hp that has a repaired head and you can hardly notice it.
