Is any one familiar with this engine? I have one that began as a tire company service truck compresser engine. It was originally mounted on truck without alternator or gas tank since the truck had these. Has been converted to a regular flywheel cooling fan type system. It now drives my 8 kw generator. Question is that I couldn't get enough adjustment on the point plunger for setting the timing by the point gap, didn't want to move the slotted base on the box, as it had run good for a long time where it is set.. Made a small cap and installed it to add about.010 to the length of the push rod and that temporarily did the trick for me, Although there is no more adjustment when the push rod or what ever wears again unless I shim it again. NOW, the question is does the bakelite looking pushrod on this engine wear like the old Briggs magneto pushrods did, or does something else like the cam do the wearing. Is there a reasonably good place to get Onan parts now? Who owns them now? Are they still part of Cummin's diesel? Gene Davis
