I have a simplicity 4041 lawn tractor. I think it is 1975. It ran great for a year that I had it, but now am having trouble with it.
It generally runs good but it seems after running for a while it will just stop. It may start right back up but sometimes I have to let it sit for a while. I have cleaned out the carb. about 4 times. I put a new coil, condenser, plugs, plug wires and it still does the same thing. Now I’m having a hard time even starting it. I may have adjusted the timing out of wack. I took it to a local repair shop twice. He says it is running fine. I get it home and run it for a while and it koonks out. He was wandering if
it may have some type of synsor in the engine that may be shutting it down. Can anyone give me some advice. I hate to just junk the engine because when it is running it runs smooth and strong……thanks bob

My Simplicity 9020 does the same thing. It has to do with the carb and the heat from the engine. I changed my muffler to twin pancake mufflers but it still generates a lot of heat. My carb is worn out and I have replaced the manual fuel pump with an electric one. It has its days. If you would ever go to junk the engine, please keep me in mind as I love my 9020, but have a very hard time keeping it running, especially in very warm or very cold weather.
