I have a R-4 mag on this engine with a 43 tooth pot metal gear. All the other engines I have seen have a different mag with a smaller steel gear. Is this the proper mag for this engine and would anyone have any ideas for repairing broken or missing teeth.

At first they used the one that turned slower and found it made a weak spark when cranking to start. They changed mags and gears so the mag would turn faster and make better spark.Either one would be concidered correct on that engine.
