Thanks to all who helped me. Now the Wisconsin is running and welding. There is still a problem. It had a very stuck exhaust valve, which I got unstuck with Gunk Engine Cleaner. Now when I weld about a stick and a half, the engine apparently warms up a little, and the valve starts sticking, causing a miss and loss of power. Any help on this? I would rather NOT pull the head off.

Thanks, Bill Narby

Run some MARVEL MYSTERY OIL in the fuel. Also a high detergent motor might help. Be sure you have the valve clearances set right. Your valve clearances might be tightening up when it gets hot. Set the exhaust valve clearances on the high side of the specs.

Thanks, Kent for your help. I am presently running three gallons of 93 octane gas with 8 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil. Only have a few minutes running on this. An old welder told me to set the welder to about 5 or 10 amps, and short the cables together, and run it this way to make a load without hurting the welder. I am going to try that for about a half hour
