I have recently purchased two small enclosed crank horizontal engines with hopper cooling. One is a small Bradford of about 2hp and the other is a National type F. Does anyone have any information on either of these engines, i.e. manuals or any other literature. thanks in advance.

The only thing I could find on the Bradford is as follows.

The Bradford was made by Flickinger Iron Workss of Bradford, Pennsylvania. It's not known when the company was formed, but they were making engines in 1902 from 2 1/2 to 40 hp. But these engines were not hopper cooled. The book I have shows a hopper cooled 6hp that was offered in 1912. It was one of the very few hopper cooled engines offered with a crosshead design.

As for the National, I found several company names that stated with National, but none mentioned a type F. Sorry. You might want to try the Smokstak board on enginads. There are a few people there form the "other side of the pond" that may be able to help.
