I have a TG ZC from 29', the governor had fallen appart, I believe because the last owner put the throttle together backwards and rpm increased with rmp. One of the weights is broken at the narrow point, and the unit that the weights attach to is broken in two. Question: Is there a relaible way to repair these? (my funds are very limited)Are they cast iron? Steel? The weight looks like cast iron and the other part looks like steel, weld? Braze? or is it not worth the risk and needs to be replaced?

it looks alot like the governor yoke parts that were in the bottom of my FM 118. i'm waiting for a new one to arrive in the mail now. don't know about the ZC but the 118 is die cast alloy. i think it cost around $22

Where did you get the yoke? (it is the part the weights connect to, yes?)

Sorry i haven't answered sooner, i think most of the new parts are comming from Arrow specialty co in Tulsa, Oklahoma. but i am going through Hit and miss enterprises Link the fellow has been very free with his time and advise and that's worth a lot to me since i have noone to turn to in my area to help me with my engine. the yoke which is what broke on my part comes with out weights (i think, i haven't received my parts yet, just ordered) but i think the weights are listed in the catalogue that i got from hit and miss. (can't lay my hands on it at the moment). might i suggest that you go to enginads.com and search for 118 setting search for the past three months. a fellow gives the arrow sight that has a manual online. please advise of progress since i can find few people who are willing to share infromation on the larger/later FMB engines.

I think it would be foolhardy to weld up governor parts. If the governor would ever fail, there could be pieces of flywheel flying through the air.

Did you check availablity and cost of the parts with any of the Fairbanks links I posted the other day? Also, I've seen the governors on ebay from time to time.

Yes, Hit and Miss Ent. has parts, Can you tell me if the name of the part they sell called the "Yoke, left hand thread" it the assembly that the weights attach to? What is left hand thread on it?
