Two Major Problems: Voltage Regultor Works Wrong and Oil Leak! The voltage regulator works but it doesnt recharge the battery and the voltage regulator is almost brand new (Shines) and the battery is brand new. How is that fixed? The oil leak leaks all the time. Do I have to take apart the whole engine just to replace the gaskets? the engine was a 10hp but was rebuilt to 12hp. Its just the gaskets right?

oil leaks can be caused by faulty breather or a bad seal allowing air to enter crankcase
crankcase must have a vacuum, not pressure
to check charging circuit you must generally check the stator out put first there is a spec for min. a/c volts which the reg. changes to dc
usually its 32volts ac or more,
also you need to run the eng, wide open to charge the battery, as it is not like a car alternator
