I am looking for sleeve kits, bearing sets and gasket set (basically a complete rebuild kit) for a Continental GD157 diesel engine. All I get when I ask around is "They made a GD157?"
If there are no parts, then what engine is a drop in replacement for it?

Bruce

I have tried numerous places over the last couple of years. I mention GD157 and their eyes glass over. The engine is in Maine at my brother's, but I live in Alaska. It is in a Huber Road Maintainer tractor but I know these engines were also very popular as stationary engines too.

Bruce, The terratrac DT-34 crawler and the case 300 round grille used the GD 157 cont'l . Also 350 IH diesel used the GD 193 , parts are scarce for both sizes . It may come to boring and sleeving your sleeves if your pistons are not cracked or broken . That is what I have to do for the JD series cont'l engines that are in my case 1000 series crawlers, been doing it for near 20 years , works fine. Post an email if you want to see some pict's of that or want to chat about it .

That engine is listed in my 1958 book.So they did make it.A company like napa has alot of stuff for the common engines. In this case you may have to go to cattipillar engine dealer they own the company now.
