Kohler engin no spark

10 hp kohler when I try to start it you have to turn it over very fast or there is no spark at all,points look good , have tryed different condensers still only sparks when it is turned fast What can be wrong with it? Thank You for any help Vince

clean your fly-wheel real good (magnets) IF you have electronis egnition it has to turn 600 rps but with points ans condenson it makes no difference

If this is a magneto ignition, it may be a bad coil. If the engine is old enough the coil is no longer available from Kohler. I had this problem on a K-161. I was able to make a coil from a Tecumseh work on the K-161.
