Hi All,

I'm wanting a small, 10hp to 15hp @ 3600rpm or 7hp @ 1800rpm, 1cyl or 2 cyl diesel engine to run some home projects. Diesel is a must have requirment.

From what I've seen of the older engines there all built extremely heavy, correct? If not, what do I need to look for, brand/model?

I wouldn't mind something that weighed 200lbs or less nor does it have to be old. A slower (1800rpm or less) rpm engine would be nice. What brand/model do I need to look for?

Suggestions?

There are a bunch of diesel options here.
For slow speeds, clones of the old Lister engines are available from lots of places. Suggest you check out the following links:

A another vendor is mdmo@rfci.net (Mike Montieth).

Some of these importers also have higher speed
engines.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for reminding about listiod.com. I had forgoten all about that website. I ran into it a couple years back. I see George has added a new engine line, 12hp/2cyl petter engine but doesn't list a price, to new.

I wasn't looking for a high rpm diesel but was looking at some of the newer air cooled 10hp and it seams they all use 3600rpm. Most are on 2-pole generators so that makes since on the high rpm, just not cost effective.
