I'm trying to trouble shoot my magneto. Points are good, and l've even tried a new condenser still no fire. Does anyone know how to test the coil ? I can get about an 0.5 volt reading through the points is all but absolutely nothing at the spark plug wire connections. Any help would be great. Thanks; Jerry

Are you tring to read the resistance of the high tention side of the coil directly on the coil. If so you should have a reading in the 7000 (7K) to 10000 (10K) ohm range. If you are tring to read through the distributor bug you will read an open.
