I have an old Waterloo Boy stationary engine sitting here that I'd like to get some info on. The ID tag states it was sold by PJ Downes Company, was a 4HP model, and has an engine number of 89765. If my source is correct, that dates this engine to 1913. I can't seem to find any other info about this engine on the Internet.

I'd like to know just how rare of an engine this is. The gas tank is shot and the wrist pin may be worn, but other than that it's in fairly good condition. There's somebody who might be interested in buying it, so I'd like to know how much it's worth. If anybody has any info on this engine, please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Good eveing, I had a 4 Hp Waterloo boy about 3 years ago and sold it.My was in original paint,I hafd a new gas tank made for it.I also had the original piping from the tank to the mixer. the mixer should be hung down and look like a cap with a two dlots that run on an angle when the thumb screw is loosened you can turn the mixer cap at and regulate the amount of air the engine recieves. There should be a right angle globe valve on the fuel line as well as a check valve. The engine I sold i got $900 for it.Mine did run it wasn"t the prettiest but was a good engine. I would say the price has gone up since I sold mine three years ago.Good luck

Well, this engine has surface rust over pretty much the entire surface (no good paint that I can tell) and is currently in pieces, although all the pieces are together. I think we were going to fix it up at one point which is why we took it apart, but no time and no money equals no running engine. I was wondering if $500 would be fair or if it would be too much for the shape it's in now. The guy who might wanna buy it probably wouldn't want to pay more than $100 or so for it. He is a friend, but I don't want to sell myself too short either.

I could be interested in the 4 hp if you still have it.

I'd like to offer it to the local guy first once I get an idea how much it's worth. However, I guess I can be open to offers. If you want, I can try to get some pictures of it that I can send through email.
